Straw Bale Construction: Hands-On Weekend **FULL for 2008**
Fee:
$325.00 Sorry, this workshop is Full for 2008.
With Ben Polley of Harvest Homes
Straw bales can be used to build homes and other types of buildings that are extremely durable, beautiful, energy-efficient, low-cost and well suited to our four-season climate. Lots of theory and practical experience building a small straw bale cabin. (This will not include cement lime or earthen plastering. We recommend you take the plastering and finishing workshops set in August.)
This weekend workshop is really hands-on, so expect to get dirty! Here is a list of what to bring:
- Tent
- Sleeping bag
- Flashlight
- Personal stuff
- Sun hat

- Pen and notebook
- Camera
- Weather-appropriate clothing
Fee includes vegetarian meals and camping.
Please be sure to have time to set up your tent and be in the Round Room for a 7:00pm start on Friday night.
