Come out and find all those wonderful hard to get heritage seeds, and organic transplants. Trade, buy and sell.
This year the Everdale Seedy Saturday will host the launch of Everdale’s new kitchen and Farmer/Chef Project. Join in the fun at this exciting annual event and help Everdale christen their new kitchen space.
Sample a Locavore Menu that will be featuring:
- Seasonal Soups
- Homemade Bread
- Vitamin Rich Salads
- Funky Desserts
All original recipes made with the best that this season and our local farms have to offer. Taste why this kind of food is miles better. Vote for your favorites.
Lunch will also be available from the sample menu.
And in the Everdale Seedy Saturday Tradition, you will have access to a plethora of heritage and organic seeds, organic vegetable and herb transplants and of course there will be activities for the kids.
2008 Seedy Saturday Mini Workshops
- Composting: 11:00am - 12:00pm
With Harris Ivens, Assistant Farm Manager at Everdale and compost specialist. Get in to the dirt and the compost with this primer. Hands on, you can try out vermi-composting, making compost tea and learn the basics of how to build a heap. A discussion of soils and the uses for compost will wrap up the session. - Biointensive Gardening: 2:00pm - 3:00pm
With Gavin Dandy, Everdale Farm Manager. Learn how to grow more vegetables in less space than you ever thought possible. In order to achieve greater productivity, the biointensive method uses double dug raised beds, intensive planting, and companion planting.

Adult $6.00; Student/senior $4.00; 6-17 years old $3.00; under 6 years old free.
