Biodiesel and Sustainable Energy Systems

Biodiesel-101

With Greg Lougheed,  biodiesel producer from Lougheed Biofuels of Owen Sound

Spend a day with a master biodiesel maker.

Greg will cover feedstocks, one and two stage biodiesel reactions, required equipment, biodiesel quality and everything you need to know about biodiesel. Greg will also show the titration method of testing the quality of waste vegetable oil and everyone will get a chance to do their own titration.

This is an excellent primer for anyone wishing to start working with biodiesel

Make your own Biodiesel Reactor!

THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN POSTPONED>>PLEASE contact us if you are interested in it and we will inform you  the next time it is scheduled.

Biodiesel is a clean, green fuel produced from waste cooking oil that can be used in any diesel vehicle. It doesn’t contribute to greenhouse gases and doesn’t pollute the air. During the two-day workshop, you will build a small inexpensive, backyard “homebrew” reactor with the capacity to brew over 200 litres per week. A complete construction guide and parts list will be available.
